More Snow, October 12, 2008

UPDATE: The news reports that North Salt Lake got eight inches of snow out of this storm.
Sunrise Sunday morning, Oct 12, 2008. A couple of inches overnight. Always looks deepest on the patio furniture.
Heavy wet snow weighing down the branches with unfallen leaves.
More snow predicted today. Looks threatening to the north. Weatherman says Davis County is getting lake effect. Snow plow has been up the street twice this morning. Normally I'd be out clearing the drive and walks, but this will melt fast.

I'm settling in with my coffee, crossword, and the Sunday morning news programs.

Lovely photos, Bekkie. Must be three years since we had so much snow here. Is this a sign of a harsh winter to come?

Good afternoon to you, John (morning here). This is typical Utah weather. We often get an early snowstorm followed by weeks of no snow and warming temps. Just as often, the snow comes and comes and comes and seems to never let up. You never know what to expect here. The forecast calls for temps 20 degrees higher by next weekend. Very typical for Utah this time of year.

You must not have as much snow as I do. While we don't have to worry about the driveway becoming iced over, we can't really wait for 6 inches of snow to melt off. I had to shovel.

Six inches! Fantastic! Aren't you in Davis County, too? You must be higher on the bench than I, or received a direct hit from the lake effect. I'd say we got maybe 3, though it has melted off the drive and walks.

I am in Davis County - up near Mueller Park.

Yes, a little higher up then, David. I'm more on the mid-bench in NSL. I think we probably ended up with six inches and you may have had eight overall, according to news reports. A nice kickoff to the season, eh?
